Sesvenna mountain hut
Along the trail to the Uina valley , at 2,256 m above sea level, hikers will cross the Sesvenna Refuge, nestled in the middle of the bleak high Alpine landscape of the Upper Venosta Valley. The Watles chairlift takes hikers directly to the mountain station. From there, the scenic high Alpine road leads to the Sesvenna Shelter hut. The hike is easy and well-signposted. Suitable for families, the trip takes between 2.5 and 3 hours.
For the return trip, retrace the same path. Alternatively, real sports enthusiasts can also go downhill through the waterfalls and across the Slingia pastures, down to the village of Slingia (drop in about 1.5 hours). On arrival, the Hiking Taxi is available to bring tired hikers to the valley station of the Watles chairlift.
The Sesvenna hut is also known for the old smugglers’ path and the current "smugglers’ run" competition which takes place here.
